Christian Garling has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He founded Berkley’s insurance operations in Australia before establishing FTA Insurance, a Lloyd’s coverholder. With two decades of success in the Australian market, Garling has built a strong reputation for leadership and expertise. Rowan Mattinson’s career began in hospitality, where he developed a strong foundation in customer service before transitioning to insurance brokerage. Over nearly a decade, he honed his skills and gained valuable experience, eventually moving into underwriting. Specialising in professional indemnity risks, he worked across various market segments, expanding his expertise.
In late 2021, Mattinson joined FTA as underwriting manager for the southern states of Australia. Since then, he has thrived in the role, quickly establishing himself as a key contributor to FTA’s success and growth. Rowan Mattinson
Rachel Macionis has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career as a box assistant at Lloyd’s of London before transitioning into underwriting. Drawn to the variety and complexity of risk, she relocated to Australia 15 years ago to expand her expertise in the local market.
In 2021, Macionis joined FTA as the Queensland underwriting manager, specialising in financial lines with a particular focus on construction risks. known for her friendly demeanour, fast turnaround times and exceptional broker support, she has quickly earned a strong reputation within both FTA and the wider industry.

Danique Groeneveld
NSW and ACT State Manager
Danique Groeneveld, originally from the Netherlands, brings over 14 years of diverse experience in the insurance industry. She began her career as a private investigator handling insurance claims in Perth before transitioning into a financial lines insurance broker role in Sydney. Her career path then led her into underwriting, where she travelled across Australia as FTA’s broker relationship manager. Her career at FTA has seen her progress to distribution manager and now as NSW and ACT state manager.
Known for her friendly approach and fast, effective service, Groeneveld is dedicated to providing quick, practical solutions for insurance brokers. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, trail running, savouring fine wine with friends and skiing in Europe’s snowy mountains.
