Travis Hargreaves started working in the insurance industry in 2002 as a business development manager for the authorised representative group Ausure Insurance. He created his own branch, Ausure Newcastle, as an insurance broker in 2005. Over the years, this business has grown and the Ausure Horizon, Ausure Coastal and Ausure Hospitality insurance branches have been added. With his business partners, Travis also acquired Ausure Orange, Ausure Griffith, Ausure Canberra and Ausure Dubbo to have a significant market presence in New South Wales. Aside from managing his team, he maintains his broking role within Ausure Hospitality because he enjoys building relationships directly with clients.
Travis believes that being honest and involving one’s clients in the process of building their insurance program helps them understand the market’s challenges and in turn appreciate the work that brokers do for them. He and his team work closely with various industry bodies, including the Australian Hotels Association. They find that being ingrained in these networks and having strong relationships with their clients are the reasons behind Ausure’s growth and retention.
