A dedicated insurance professional with over 23 years of experience, Vishal Kapoor has gone out of his way to distinguish himself over his journey. “Working in diverse roles (locally and abroad) as an international broker, insurer, underwriting agent and now in a large national broker, has given me an opportunity to understand the ins-and-outs of the industry,” says Vishal. “I believe my diverse experience gives me an edge over many others.”
Vishal got started straight out of high school in the early 1990s and got a bachelor’s degree in commerce, majoring in insurance and marketing, in 1997 from Deakin University Burwood.
What’s more, he’s pursued his insurance journey and now is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) and has a Diploma of Financial Services in insurance broking from the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA). He has also been inducted as a Fellow CIP in the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and sits on their Insurance Broking Faculty Board.
From 1999 to present, Vishal has worked as an account executive, claims consultant, franchise manager, commercial team leader, in M&A and insolvency, national accounts manager and national sales segment manager. Some of his current roles have been in compliance, as a general manager, a managing director and now as a director at McLardy McShane Kapoor.
His significant achievements include:
• Commencing a joint venture in 2018 and sustaining four years of exponential growth
• Implementing both London Line Slips and executing an Australian binder with one of the largest insurers in the world
• Being an account manager for ASX-listed clients
• Developing and launching a policy wording into the insurance market
• Managing the largest franchise group in Australasia, including over 3,500 franchisees
What are his objectives for the future?
“My plan is to keep learning and growing,” he says. “I love and respect this industry as it has given me so much. I fully intend to continue to participate in its growth and development, and to keep giving back to the insurance community at large.”
