Don McLardy has an extensive insurance career starting in the 1980s with the progressive insurance broker OAMPS. In 1996, he joined the fledging broking business Insurance Advisernet and subsequently became a director and shareholder. Insurance Advisernet grew to become a national insurance brokerage with over 100 authorised representatives. In 2007, Don sold out of Insurance Advisernet and, with close friend Mike McShane, concentrated on building his own broking business: the now well-known McLardy McShane Group. Don is still the CEO and has presided over the tremendous growth of the Group. McLardy McShane now has 26 branches and joint ventures and over 60 authorised representatives across Australia generating GWP of over $250m. McLardy McShane has a great reputation for still maintaining a strong family culture and a community minded focus. Don has a Diploma in Financial Services (Broking) and is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB).

Mike has worked in all facets of the insurance industry, including general broking, claims and financial services as well as for the National Insurance Brokers Association. In 1999, he started his own business, McShane Business Services, which he grew consistently over eight years and then merged with Don McLardy & Associates in 2007 to create McLardy McShane. Mike continues to service a large number of clients, and although he has experience in all areas of business insurance, he has particular expertise in the mobile plant, cranes and earthmoving industry.

Prior to working at Guild Nick spent 5 years abroad working in London for BDO in the Financial Services team. He then secured a role at Lloyd’s of London broker, Integrum Insurance Brokers, serving as group financial controller. Nick qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Melbourne, working for BDO East Coast Partnership, specialising in internal and external audit. In 2011, he was seconded to the New York City office. He has also held a number of consulting and advisory roles, both within financial services and external to it, such as technology, manufacturing and retail. Nick is responsible for financial operations of the McLardy McShane Group, with a focus on ensuring that the Group’s financial performance meets expectations.
