IQumulate Premium Funding has graced Insurance Business’ prestigious list of Top Insurance Employers for three consecutive years. Its culture and specific people strategies drive this recognition through a dedicated commitment to its employees.
Realising that strategy isn’t enough without clarity and transparency, IQ’s leadership team actively engages with team members through open communication, including regular town halls, newsletters and an annual conference. They don’t hesitate to address things that haven’t worked as planned and show how they will realign them.
“IQ culture is about driving a shared experience, where our people live and breathe our vision, mission, and values,” says Brett Bastow, head of human resources. “This year, we have sustained our best employer status through engagement, strengthened our commitment to diversity and inclusion, and continued to invest in great workplaces for our people on their office days.”
As a leading provider of insurance premium funding across Australia and New Zealand, IQumulate has built its thriving business while acknowledging employees for their valued contributions in meaningful ways. A quarterly ‘Love Your Work’ award publicly recognizes peer-nominated employees, and the company celebrates tenure milestones with increasing frequency.
An informative newsletter highlights outstanding performance and contributions, while online forums serve as a platform for real-time shoutouts.
IQ stands out for its focus on supporting employees with top-rated benefits, including:
· Vacation leave: encourages employees to take breaks, incentivises annual leave with an extra week the following year, and offers free travel insurance
· Flexible work options: embraces a hybrid work model with two days in the office and supports different ways of working with a “make-it-work” mindset
· Sick leave: invests in a safe, balanced, and supportive environment, providing genuine support during times of need
To help its employees grow professionally and thrive, IQ has integrated development and career opportunities into its corporate strategy.
“We focus on providing continual development opportunities for our people through online flexible learning, where individuals drive development pathways based on current roles or career goals,” says Bastow.
On-the-job training through its ‘Adopt a Colleague’ program allows employees to gain insights across different business areas. Building skills within roles is fundamental, with purposeful micro-learning opportunities offered to enhance skills used daily. An example is IQ’s investment in automation, which has enabled staff to develop new technological skill sets within their roles.
“We look to promote within, and we have seen this strategy succeed over the past few years,” says Bastow. “Seeing our employees grow on their career journey is exciting, and for a business our size, achieving this is no mean feat.”
“We continue to see cyber as a key opportunity and will be further developing customer-centric solutions across various geographies and segments in line with our growth aspirations”
