Leadership
John Moller is Chief Underwriting Officer of Arch Insurance Canada with executive responsibility for all business units and is based out of Toronto. He was promoted from Senior Vice President, Specialty Lines in January 2023 when he was National Head of Executive Assurance (D&O), Professional Liability (E&O) and Property and Casualty (P&C) Programs. Moller joined Arch Canada in 2018 after 10 years with Arch in New York City where he held increasing levels of responsibility, including VP of Growth and Middle Market managing the underwriting of SME risks across various lines in the US. Prior to this, he was with The Hartford. He has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware.

He was promoted from underwriting manager, professional liability (US) when he was managing the East Coast team with a focus on cyber, tech and E&O. He joined Arch Canada after eight years with Arch in New York City and Jersey City, holding positions in both claim operations and finance before transitioning to underwriting over five years ago. He was instrumental in the meteoric growth of cyber for Arch US and has brought his technical skillset and solution-oriented mindset to Canada. Pitcher has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.

Jean-Pierre Galipeault serves as president and chief regional executive for Arch Insurance Canada. He was promoted to president in January 2023. He joined Arch Canada in 2013 and held various senior underwriting positions until he became chief regional executive in 2019. Prior to joining Arch Canada, Galipeault worked as a broker focused on specialty programs and warranty solutions. He has an Honours BSocSc from the University of Ottawa and is fully bilingual in French and English.
