Innovation, continuous improvement and creating customer loyalty are the fuels that drive Anita Swamy’s passion for elevating the customer experience, advancing technology and fostering diversity in the areas of healthcare, insurance, emerging start-ups and newcomer settlement.
In her daily role with Medavie Blue Cross, Swamy provides strategic leadership and oversight in individual and group administration, claims and the contact centre to deliver a superior customer experience as defined by shifting customer demand. She is a proud member of Medavie’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council, vice chair of the National Benefit and Claims Committee of the Canadian Association of Blue Cross Plans and a participant in the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Customer Experience Community.
Swamy and her family reside in Halifax, where she serves on the boards of De-cell Technologies, a biotech start-up and The Halifax Partnership, the Halifax regional municipality’s economic development organization, dedicated to building a more inclusive, sustainable, resilient and prosperous Halifax. She also mentors and assists new immigrants and recent university graduates in growing their professional networks in Halifax, and she leads and teaches the Vedanta Ashram Society’s youth program.
Swamy holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and two project management designations, PMP and PMI-RMP.
