“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”
Kelvin Rampersad,
Carte Wealth Management
As underwriting manager for AXA XL’s fine art, jewelry and specie business, Farzina Coladon manages all aspects of the underwriting operations within Canada. This includes, but is not limited to, new business production, broker and client management, marketing, and, most importantly, acting as the senior contact for larger specialty insurance clients such as private and corporate collectors, museums and galleries.
Coladon joined AXA XL in November 2017 with more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. “I actually started my career in the late 90’s as a summer intern with a large global insurer, and have made great strides over the course of my career. Since relocating back to Vancouver early 2022 (for the second time), I see myself thriving both personally and professionally. There is something to be said about the insurance community on the west coast – we are closely knit, and relationships play a big part in this.”
Farzina enjoys volunteering with a wide variety of community groups and boards. She is a board member for the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC), BC chapter. As a member of the Ismaili community, Coladon also dedicates many hours supporting the efforts of the Aga Khan Foundation Canada, an international development organization which promotes sustainable and equitable social development in Africa and Asia. “As a first generation Canadian, I’m inspired by the fortitude and bravery of my immigrant parents’ which has helped me become who I am today and I want to give back to young women navigating professional life in an industry not always as open and diverse as it has the potential to be.”
Coladon was recognized as one of the 2017 Underwriters of the Year by the Canadian Broker Network. She earned her French Studies certification from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology and holds the Canadian Risk Management designation from the University of Toronto.
