“I’m so proud to see that through my hard work and that of my team, we have built trust with our industry partners”
Victoria Coster,

Robert Manson’s journey into the insurance industry was shaped by inspiration and family values. Watching his father build a meaningful career as a broker and seeing how the industry supported their family, Manson was naturally drawn to pursue his own path as a commercial producer.
He began his career in 2013 as a junior property underwriter at Pembridge, followed by several roles at Intact, where he gained valuable experience in commercial underwriting. In 2018, Manson made the decision to move to the broker side, starting at a boutique brokerage and eventually joining Mitch Insurance Brokers in 2021.
Mitch Insurance has long been known for its success in personal lines, often viewed as a 'runaway train' in that space for over a decade. "While that's an amazing achievement," Manson notes, "I'm especially proud that in the last three years, our commercial business has doubled in size relative to personal lines."
Colleagues credit Manson as a key player in the brokerage’s commercial success. While he’s dedicated to growing the business – Manson’s sales have increased by over 150 percent over the past two-and-a-half years – he’s also committed to mentoring new team members. His hands-on approach and extensive experience make him a trusted resource for sales strategy and client presentations.
“While I’ve had the privilege of working alongside industry leaders like Nick Rizzuto, Nick Kidd, and Adam Mitchell, my own growth has been shaped by many mentors throughout my career,” says Manson. “Each has shared valuable lessons that have helped me develop my industry knowledge and focus on delivering tailored solutions to my clients.”
In 2024, Manson took an exciting step by opening his own Mitch Insurance Brokers branch in Durham Region, where he serves as managing partner. Along with his small, dedicated team, he provides customized risk management solutions to clients across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Recognized by IBC as a Rising Star in 2024, Manson’s contributions go beyond sales performance. His involvement as a board member with the Insurance Brokers Association of Durham Region has raised awareness, increased membership, and boosted event attendance and charitable donations.
Committed to his craft, Manson has earned his CIP, passed the RIBO technical exam, and completed risk management courses in the US. He remains passionate about helping the insurance industry evolve and grow to better meet clients' needs.
