“I’m so proud to see that through my hard work and that of my team, we have built trust with our industry partners”
Victoria Coster,
Credit Fix Solutions
Robyn Sproston developed a passion for technology and its potential to transform business processes. This enduring interest led her to focus on finding innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and growth within the industry, particularly at the intersection of insurance and technology, where her expertise and knowledge have significantly benefited customers and stakeholders.
One of her most significant achievements is being part of a team that digitized all the company’s regional offices’ paper policy files. It was a massive undertaking that strengthened her project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Sproston credits her impressive career start to the people she has met, including mentors, managers, colleagues, and clients. Their support and guidance have challenged her to achieve her goals. She is grateful for their trust and confidence in her abilities, and she strives to repay them by delivering high-quality work and exceeding their expectations.
As the product owner and business lead at HSB Canada, Sproston contributes significantly to reinforcing the company’s vision to be the leading provider of specialized insurance and risk solutions for the innovation-driven economy.
Managing multiple projects with varying scopes and resources while leading a diverse team poses the biggest challenge in her current role. Sproston enjoys the challenge of juggling various tasks and employs a multipronged strategy to overcome these issues, including prioritizing tasks, breaking down deliverables, communicating effectively, and adapting to changing requirements.
“I never applied for a role that already existed, but rather, I pitched new ideas and projects that would add value to our operations, products, and customers,” she says. “I carved out my niche and demonstrated my initiative, creativity, and leadership. These two achievements reflect my ability to drive change, solve problems, and deliver results.”
IBC recognized Sproston as a Rising Star of 2024, a testament to her outstanding impact and reputation within the industry.
“Being named a Rising Star is a great honour and recognition, but I wouldn’t say it has altered my mindset or career goals per se,” Sproston says. “I still have the same passion, curiosity, and drive. I still want to learn new things, improve my skills, and deliver value to my clients. And I still want to help others succeed and grow, especially those new to the industry or facing challenges. I hope that by being named a Rising Star, I can inspire and motivate others to achieve their goals and potential. That is what makes me happiest.”
Her enthusiasm for her work and collaborative approach have earned Sproston a reputation for understanding and appreciating the unique qualities of the people she works with. She tailors her communication style, feedback, and coaching to suit their needs and preferences.
“I enjoy creating a positive and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and respected for who they are,” she says.
Sproston views her career journey as one of discovery, teamwork, and creativity. She constantly explores new ways to enhance HSB Canada’s products and services and meet clients’ evolving needs.
She is inspired by what the future may hold, and her dedication to inclusion, positivity, curiosity, and solutions-oriented mindset position her as a future leader helping to shape the evolving insurance market.

Coster brings depth and breadth of experience to her current position, having joined the industry as a mortgage processor before leaping into broking. She later honed her credit reporting education and credit repair skills for several years while working directly for various brokers.
“Starting Credit Fix Solutions was a deliberate move, as I saw there was a niche in ‘no win, no fee’ credit repair that the industry didn’t currently offer,” she says.
As a CEO, Coster learned through business coaching that there are no challenges in business, only opportunities to learn and grow. She wholeheartedly adopted that perspective, enabling her to overcome the obstacles inherent in team management and implement new and improved systems. She employs several strategies for challenging situations, such as following routines, forward planning, sleeping well and exercising.
“If I make sure I look after myself, have a plan of action, and I’m organised, then I can overcome any challenge (opportunity to learn) if and when it presents itself,” Coster says.
A firm believer in the power of leadership, Coster strives to set an example that the next generation of women and men can look up to. She prides herself on her reliability and trustworthiness and is the first person to show up and the last to leave the workplace.
“I’m genuinely keen to keep bettering myself,” she says. “Even now, at the top of my game, I’m still always learning.”
Guided by her favourite quote, “It’s better to be green and growing than ripe and rotting”, Coster constantly stokes her curiosity and keeps an open mind about life and business. Her kindness, positive attitude, business acumen and dedication to her profession make her a trusted and valuable partner to her peers and the mortgage industry.
