Sara Runnalls brings 29 years of experience to Canada’s property and casualty insurance industry, combining deep expertise with a genuine passion for helping clients navigate complex insurance and risk management needs. As the leader of HUB’s complex risk (property and casualty) team in Toronto, she works closely with some of HUB’s most sophisticated commercial clients, focusing on strategies to reduce their total cost of risk. She is highly skilled in both traditional insurance placements and specialized solutions, as well as alternative risk transfer methods like captives, self-insurance, parametric insurance, and catastrophe bonds. Her clients often have intricate requirements, from high-capacity property placements to multinational operations.
Runnalls is also committed to giving back, volunteering with organizations such as Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada and the Insurance Institute of Canada. She was honoured with the CIP Society’s Emerging Leader Award in 2018 and recognized as a Diversity Leader finalist at the 2022 IBAO Awards of Excellence. Outside of work, she enjoys life in Uxbridge, Ontario, spending time with her family, horses, and dogs.
