Few technology providers can claim 55 years inside the insurance industry. Vertafore can, and its IB’s Global 5-Star Technology and Software Provider 2026 award shows that longevity has not dulled its edge. The company’s identity rests on the belief that insurance powers progress, a conviction sharpened by an industry contending with rising complexity, talent shortages, and rapidly evolving technology.
The company frames its vision as Distribution Velocity, accelerating every part of the insurance value chain with speed and intentional outcomes. The aim is to eliminate what Vertafore calls distribution drag, the fragmented, stop-and-start execution that slows work within insurance organizations and as it passes between agencies, MGAs, carriers, and regulators. “We believe the future of our industry belongs to organizations that can eliminate distribution drag, improve the flow of work within their businesses, and strengthen connections across the insurance distribution ecosystem,” says Amy Zupon, Vertafore’s CEO.
What sets Vertafore apart, in its own assessment, is the breadth of its vantage point. Because it works across agencies, MGAs, carriers, regulators, and insurance professionals, it sees firsthand where work slows down, where data becomes disconnected, and where organizations struggle to scale. That perspective shapes an innovation philosophy Vertafore describes as customer-centric and insight-driven, prioritizing foundational problem-solving over novelty for its own sake. Rather than chasing individual market trends, the company invests ahead of the structural challenges it sees coming.

Backing that approach is a substantial commitment: by its own account, Vertafore reinvests nearly a quarter of its revenue into research and development. Those funds underwrite sustained work in AI, data, connectivity, and workflow automation, headlined by the Vertafore Velocity AI Platform, which the company unveiled in 2026 to bring embedded, agentic AI into the solutions customers already use.
“AI is fundamentally changing how insurance work gets done, but in our complex and regulated industry, where trust is key, AI needs to be designed at the intersection of innovation and trust,” says James Thom, Chief Product Officer, adding that it should strengthen the human side of insurance rather than replace it. ReferenceConnect AI, which helps professionals quickly find and interpret policy and coverage information, is a case in point.
That breadth extends across the rest of Vertafore’s portfolio, from the connected AgencyOne platform to MGA tools such as Surefyre, and Sircon for Carriers, each built to help streamline workflows. The company counts 98 of the top 100 agencies, 96 of the top 100 carriers, and 85% of the fastest growing MGAs among its relationships.
The road ahead runs in the same direction: deeper investment in AI, data, and connected workflows, with the Velocity AI Platform as the foundation for new embedded capabilities across the portfolio. For Vertafore, it comes back to a straightforward aim: helping customers adapt faster and grow smarter with the teams they have.
