With a career spanning over 20 years centred around the retail banking and finance industry, the move to work with Coversure was a natural fit for Pamela Venu. Her parents have always instilled a strong work ethic in her, which she thinks has led her to where she is today.
Venu started her career with the banking and finance sector in April 2002, initially starting with frontline retail. This led her to managing retail outlets; she secured her first management role at the age of 25.
Her career then progressed working within her organisation's head office, where she was involved with working on a number of projects which were centred around inventory management, operations management as well as process improvement. This is where she found the path in her career that she enjoyed the most – risk and compliance.
What Venu has enjoyed the most about working in that space is thinking about how she is able to bring people along on the journey of working within a compliant business – sometimes it’s not the easiest journey to take someone on, but she really likes a challenge. She also loved building a compliance framework from the start. For Venu, having good foundations and a strong commitment to managing risk and compliance within an organisation is key to building a well-defined, well-structured framework that works for day-to-day business operations.
