In 2024, Travelers completed the acquisition of Corvus London Markets, an industry-leading cyber insurance managing general underwriter powered by proprietary technology, allowing the firm to gain a stronger foothold in the market. The acquisition brings additional knowledge through Assistant Vice President, Head of Cyber, Matt Waller, on the international and Lloyd’s markets. Waller brings over 15 years of experience in cyber insurance to Travelers.
The company designs insurance solutions and risk management guidance around each business it insures. Whether clients are a sole trader, a medium-sized business or a large multinational corporation, Travelers can protect their business as it evolves. Travelers covers businesses in sectors as diverse as financial institutions and solicitors, healthcare and technology, underwriting each risk individually.
Its sector-specific expertise helps brokers and clients manage current risks while empowering them to minimise emerging ones. Travelers offers a host of pre-loss services including its own dedicated senior risk control engineer for cyber and technology who they deploy at no charge to their clients to get a better understanding of their risk and be a real value add outside of the core product offering. Travelers has a suite of pre-loss services available free of charge to their insureds, including HCL Security Consultant Hotline, discount on products such as Endpoint Protection, free access to an employee training platform with 30+ modules, 60 days free access to SentinelOne EDR, and full access to eRiskHub.
Travelers also recognises that preventing a cyber event is mutually advantageous. Under some circumstances, they may notify their policyholders if the Travelers risk management team identifies critical cybersecurity risks impacting their policyholder’s environment. This is accomplished through their own threat intelligence as well as partnerships with trusted cybersecurity firms – also known as ‘active insurance’.
Even when clients have the best protection in place, things don’t always go to plan. Travelers’ expert in-house claims team is always on hand to help – 24/7/365. Clients benefit from Travelers’ highly skilled, in-house claim professionals with strong legal and technical knowledge, ready to work with customers to minimise the impact of any loss. They also have an in-house law firm handling actions against policyholders and representing their interests every step of the way.
Acknowledging the company’s 5-Star Cyber accolade, Waller says, “This award is recognition of the amazing work done by the Travelers team. We are proud to be providing our clients with valuable cyber underwriting, risk and claims solutions.”
