“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”
Kelvin Rampersad,
Carte Wealth Management
Holly Marchant has worked in the claims sector of the insurance industry since 2002, moving into the loss adjusting arena in 2007. She has worked with and met a wide variety of people during her employment with two large insurers and three large loss-adjusting firms.
Marchant joined Crawford in June 2020 to progress her major loss exposure and develop herself from the wealth of loss-adjusting experience available. One of the reasons she made the move was the presence of a female CEO and women in senior positions, whom she respects greatly. She aspires to grow into a leader of the future by following in their footsteps.
Marchant currently manages a range of large value, major and complex claims for Crawford & Company’s insurer clients over a range of product lines, including domestic property, real estate, commercial, business interruption and agricultural losses. The size and variety of losses Marchant handles often involve tragic circumstances, and those affected may be vulnerable.
She obtained the qualification of Associate of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters (CILA) in October 2021. It is an achievement that she holds in high esteem due to the circumstances in which she studied to attain it. It was during various COVID-19 lockdown periods, and she was working from home and home-schooling her two young children at the same time. Juggling her work, studies and home life posed an enormous challenge that prompted her to cancel her final exam date twice.
Marchant is an active member of CILA and the Chartered Insurance Institute. She sits on the panel of the Women in CILA Special Interest Group, which champions women’s career growth through their CILA qualifications and tackles the issues that women face in the industry. She ensures these issues are considered within her own company and that she is a voice for women within the major loss and other areas of the business. She maintains close contact with the senior leaders of her organisation and ensures their voices are heard in a positive light, championing change and progress.
Marchant is happily married, with two daughters and a dog. She likes to spend time outdoors with her family, enjoying their various hobbies, including walking, swimming, horseback riding and sport shooting.
