“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”

Having a grounding as an underwriter helped Amy Green make the leap to working for brokers. Working her first broker role at a small London brokerage and helping them build their profile and clients ensured that she knew the job from the ground up.
The work that Green does is a reflection of the education she received in her career through chartered institutes and her less formal roles on council for the London Chamber of Commerce to not only support her own insurance specialisation but also to understand the challenges that businesses are facing.
Green is currently the president of the Insurance Institute of Sussex and takes pride in representing its membership and promoting best practice and culture within the institute.
She has a reputation for managing multi-class risks and ensuring that her clients’ insurance and risk programs are less transactional and more about what they create for a business: the freedom to trade, the security and protection of employees and customers, the preservation of property, and the protection against mistakes.
Green never entered the insurance industry, believing that there were challenges for women, but while growing up and developing her career, she discovered specific areas where diversity, equality and inclusion can enrich the industry and crucially ensure that talent pools are filled with the best candidates for the role. She emphasises that championing women who do this is a huge part of ensuring that we discuss and break the barriers that women face.
