After cofounding Risk Placement Services in 1997 as a scratch operation with just four employees, Joel Cavaness has been instrumental in driving the company’s rapid growth to become one of the largest US wholesale brokers, MGAs and program managers. A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a BS in Business Administration, Joel additionally holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Risk Management designations.

Since 2016, Ryan Collier has served as the chief digital officer of RPS. He founded the company’s e-commerce team that is taking commercial insurance to the next level by building a friction-free trading experience on a digital platform for use by the RPS retail distribution network and its customers. In 2010, Ryan devised a digital distribution channel for the small business executive liability insurance arena: Innovas, a state-of-the-art online multi-carrier binding platform. In 2014, that concept evolved into RPSCyber.com, a new online platform that revolutionized the cyber insurance industry and ultimately became the RPSSmallBusiness.com platform. Additionally, Ryan is the president and national practice leader for RPS’s executive lines division. The team’s focus is to bring a deep and thorough understanding of the esoteric executive and professional liability products to retail brokers for companies of all sizes and complexities.

Steve Robinson has served as national cyber practice leader at RPS since 2018, where he leads product development, marketing solutions and educational efforts related to the placement of cyber risk insurance. In addition, he is area president of RPS’s technology and cyber division, a role he has held since 2007. Steve has published numerous articles on cyber risk insurance, authored white papers, and trained insurance agent groups throughout the US via webinars and continuing education certification. He is an active public speaker, sought out for his deep expertise and ability to humanize the world of cyber liability. Steve was honored as a Top Specialist Broker in 2021 by Insurance Business magazine.

Since 2016, Manny Cho has served as Executive Vice President of RPS Executive Lines, where he leads a team of almost 125 professionals across nine diverse geographic regions. The Executive Lines team places over $750M in premium in Executive Liability, Professional Liability, Reps and Warranties and Cyber Liability insurance. Most recently, Manny was the Vice President and Western Regional Underwriting Manager for Axis Capital/Axis Pro where he led a team of underwriters in the Technology E&O, Media Liability, MPL and Cyber Liability product lines.
Manny is a strong supporter of PLUS and WSIA. He is active in the community and volunteers his time and resources to his local church, schools, and the Alameda County Food Bank. Manny holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign.
