Leadership
Thomas Corbett, in addition to serving as chairman and CEO of Alliant Insurance Services, sits on the company’s board of directors. He joined Alliant in 1977 as a producer and launched its Newport Beach-based public entity group. Prior to joining the company, he was with Allendale Insurance in Los Angeles and spent three years as a loss prevention engineer at Factory Mutual Engineering Association.
Corbett is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach. He is currently involved in various community and charitable organizations.

In his role as COO of Alliant Insurance Services, Peter Carpenter is responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of the company’s operations and attracting the industry’s best and highest performing sales professionals. He has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and joined Alliant in 2008, when it acquired ClearPoint, a Seattle-based employee benefits consulting firm that he cofounded and where he served as CEO. Prior to founding ClearPoint, Carpenter served as vice president of sales and marketing for a large regional insurance brokerage firm and as a group representative for Sun Life Insurance Company.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville, ME, where he majored in government and Spanish.

Ilene Anders serves as CFO of Alliant Insurance Services, overseeing the company’s finance, accounting and IT operations. She brings a multidisciplinary approach to the position, which is well-suited for an industry where the worlds of finance and technology continue to merge. She previously served as Alliant’s CIO, where she created the vision for client-facing technologies, directed business intelligence and oversaw the integration of systems and infrastructure. Prior to that, Anders was Alliant’s VP and director of financial planning and analysis. She has also worked as a strategic consultant to start-up companies and has experience in investment banking and corporate development with Prudential Volpe Technology Group and GMAC-RFC.
Anders holds a master’s degree in business from San Diego State University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Boston University.

Lilian Vanvieldt-Gray

Lilian Vanvieldt-Gray has worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years and is a longtime community activist who uses her experience, influence and passion to bring about positive change. As Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer (CDEIO) at Alliant Insurance Services, she leads efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within Alliant and throughout the insurance industry, with a focus on awareness, training and mentoring. Vanvieldt-Gray is also one of the country’s foremost brokers in the education space, leading the Alliant Kindergarten to Community College (K-14) Public Entity program.
Vanvieldt-Gray is a stage-3 breast cancer survivor. She currently serves as director of the Susan G. Komen Leadership Foundation in San Diego and was the organization’s Honorary Breast Cancer Survivor of the Year in 2018.

Lawrence Hamilton joined HAC in 2015 and was appointed executive director of marketing in February 2021. He is responsible for the traditional and digital marketing and customer engagement processes. He spearheaded the instrumental creation of a digital business development function, which today positions Hyundai Canada at the forefront of automotive retailing.
Lawrence is a seasoned marketer with over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. In 2001, he joined Mitsubishi Motors, undertaking both sales and marketing roles. In 2004, he joined Kia Motors (UK) as general manager of marketing before being promoted to marketing director in 2012. In 2013, he left to oversee marketing of the Toyota brand in Saudi Arabia as director of marketing communications with the Abdul Latif Jameel Group, his most recent position prior to Hyundai.

He leads the strategic direction of Hyundai’s vehicle lineup in Canada and is responsible for product portfolio activities, research and forecasting functions in the Canadian market.
Prior to joining Hyundai, he was General Motors’ executive regional director for Eastern Canada. During his 16 years with General Motors, he has been strengthening his product experience under different positions and leading teams in the US, China, Switzerland, Germany and South Korea to further solidify the brand presence and market share of Chevrolet.
