Arch Insurance has been a market-leading insurer, providing a wide range of property, casualty and specialty insurance options for corporations, professional firms and financial institutions across the US since 2001.
Arch’s approach to doing business is based on collaboration, responsiveness and commitment. Together with their business partners, they pursue better processes and designing more effective solutions to respond to the needs of customers.
“We do this by listening to the voice of the customer, being open and honest in communication, and following through on our promises,” says vice president, professional liability, Connor Brennan. “We are also constantly looking for new ways to improve and innovate, and by actively listening to our customers are able to implement this feedback to ensure we are growing as an organization.”
The cyber and technology E&O market demands a different level of expertise than other lines of coverage given the technical nature of coverage, controls, and risk-profiles, as well as the rapidly evolving threat landscape.
“We have made significant investments in developing talent from within, spending time and resources on educating our underwriters on these intricacies. Our underwriters have a strong understanding of the cyber threat landscape, and we utilize external resources to help accomplish this,” comments Brennan.
An IBA 5-Star Professional Liability winner in 2024, Arch is known for its underwriting expertise and technical knowledge throughout the business.

Through Arch’s ‘pursuing better together’ brand promise, working closely with brokers is paramount. Their strategy is to be open and honest in all communication with brokers, while being hyper-responsive and ensuring strong attention to detail.
“We always strive to be a solution for our broker partners, spending the time to dig into opportunities and really embracing the partnership side of the business. If we are not able to be a solution on a given opportunity, we communicate this as quickly as possible, while also providing additional context for why the opportunity may not be a good fit,” explains Brennan.
Going forward, Arch aims to improve its efficiency, thus helping its clients.
“A lot of this has been through technology improvements and streamlining our workflows. The goals are to make our underwriting processes as efficient as we can and to make Arch easy for clients to do business with,” says Swartley.
“One aspect of that is being able to conduct business digitally so that our brokers have an extremely efficient way to interact with us on small private company business.”
Arch continues to invest and develop technology, most notably an underwriting workbench deployment for cyber and professional liability underwriting team.
“This investment in technology enhances underwriting, claims, and distribution strategy to make the process of doing business with Arch more efficient, while also providing us with better data and insights to make informed decisions,” says Brennan.
