Founded in 1930, Johnson & Johnson (J&J) is a family-owned and operated business that has the experience of the past with a vision for the future. The business is built on a foundation of long-term relationships with agents and companies. J&J is:
• a technology- and service-driven sales organization committed to writing business with their agency partners
• a family of highly trained professionals recognized as industry leaders
• a company committed to continued education, which enables the staff to handle day-to-day business quickly and craft creative solutions for difficult accounts
• motivated to work and to build long-term relationships with its clients, agency partners and company partners
J&J currently offers its core products in 27 states, and it has a few national products as well. The company plans to continue its expansion into all 50 states for all products. J&J is excited to continue its mission to support independent agencies and partner companies while passionately providing insurance solutions and creating lifelong relationships.
J&J stands out from the competition by:
• having a full line of personal, commercial, program and premium financing products
• offering a direct billing service that has shown a 10-point impact on retention and prevents agents from wasting time collecting premiums
• providing IVANS policy downloads that enable up to 30% labor savings for independent agencies
• delivering online capabilities, including rating, policy documents, payments and claims reporting
• maintaining an in-house team of more than 20 programmers to facilitate fast improvements in technology
• having a continuous commitment to providing every employee with a family culture and a team-oriented work environment
• maintaining a focus on providing each partner agency with an industry-leading customer experience
Some of J&J’s core values include “Give Back to the Community,” “Have a Servant’s Attitude,” and “Work Hard, Play Hard, Have Fun Together!” Their employees strive to exemplify these important core values each day. Whether it’s participating in Trident United Way’s Day of Caring, joining a project with Habitat for Humanity, organizing food and clothing drives, or volunteering for local community organizations, J&J employees are driving positive change in their communities. Wellness and Employee Appreciation Day is an annual employee event where all employees pursue wellness together. The day is full of team-building activities and even more fun. Living out this core value is vitally important to the development of strong bonds between employees and the overall success of J&J. To sum up the most important asset of the J&J team (their family culture), the core value “Relationships and Teamwork – We All Row Together” exemplifies the root of their success.
The company also holds its flagship event, the CSR Conference, every other year. It is just one of the many ways J&J thanks agency partners for their business. J&J also includes all of its partner companies in this event. For 20 years, these valued partners have enjoyed a themed costume kickoff party and top-notch entertainment during a fun-filled weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. This event creates lifelong relationships between J&J employees, partner agencies, and partner companies. J&J is excited about the future and is looking forward to continued growth in the industry.

“Everything we do as an organization is to serve our agents in a meaningful way, which is to provide industry-leading insurance solutions when they need them the most. Our brokers internally work very collaboratively. We check our egos at the door and work together to set our agency partners and their clients up for success by leveraging each other’s geographic expertise, carrier relationships and contracts, and technical expertise,” he adds.
Jencap’s areas of specialization include environmental; workers’ compensation; property; construction; habitational/real estate; transportation/garage; cannabis; cyber, management, and professional liability; manufacturing; healthcare; and many more.
Jencap is committed to employing innovative enterprise-wide technology solutions that support their underwriters in making more timely and effective risk decisions. SubmissionIQ equips their underwriters with the data they need to make smart and strategic risk assessments, further supporting them in implementing best-in-class business processes.

They don’t just say that their team members “own it” – they really do! This adds a unique layer of commitment and dedication to their job and the company’s success.
“Our team has successfully executed on an aggressive acquisition and integration plan over the last few years, which has contributed greatly to our strong market position. Each acquisition has provided geographic expansion, new market access, exclusive programs and niche specialization,” says Jencap Chief Executive Officer John Jennings.
To date, they have acquired 19 companies and rebranded 10 of those companies to Jencap.
