With nearly 25 years of industry experience, Regina Woodberry, vice president, client services at Gallagher Bassett (GB), has focused her career on uplifting others. She started at GB as a claims adjuster, moving up through the claims operation, and then transitioned to client services as a senior client services manager. She was promoted to VP client services in 2022, making her the first woman of color to earn this position at GB.
As a VP, Woodberry oversees the strategy and progression of client relationships. A champion of the organization’s culture and future, she helped develop GB’s mentorship program for diverse leaders and serves on the DEI Steering Committee, Include@GB.
She also works with a teen mentoring group in South Carolina called Tyrone Wilson Let Us Mentor, which provides resources to teens as they approach young adulthood, and volunteers with Seven Bridge Recovery in Atlanta, GA, which serves previously incarcerated women who are transitioning back into the workforce.
Whether leading her team, empowering rising talent, or advocating for her clients, Woodberry always “reaches back” and invests in the people and initiatives around her. She has carefully and authentically built relationships, enabling herself and others to achieve personal and professional success.

She transitioned into the insurance industry with a position at Travelers, working there for four years, before coming to Gallagher Bassett.

“As the leader of a team, it’s important to motivate and encourage your team members. People work very hard and do their best and it’s important to recognize these efforts. For my career overall, my attitude has been one of curiosity. The more you can learn, the better you’ll understand the business, and then the deeper your knowledge will become, making you a better team member.”

“Marketing is a very busy space. The challenge is to keep it fresh and keep it new. There’s so much out there. You have to think about how to break through.”
Since joining the firm in 2015, Ryan Specialty has:

• launched 10 companies
“With each acquisition and de novo formation, a large branding component is involved,” says Phillips Topping.
Speaking on the importance of spotlighting marketing professionals, Phillips Topping says, “It’s imperative to shine a light on those who aren’t necessarily brokers or underwriters. There are so many different aspects of the industry. It’s nice to show all the great work that’s being done behind the scenes.”
