Stephanie Peters is vice president of client relations at Risk Placement Services (RPS), joining the firm in 2017.
As a dedicated professional, her career advancement has not been left to circumstance.
Peters says, “With hard work, a positive attitude and strong focus on personal growth, I was able to position myself for opportunities versus leaving my career to chance.”
What has sustained her growth is determination.
“My biggest professional strength, and the one that has led to my success so far, is my drive to win and to be the best. The biggest challenge in my current role is having enough time in my day, it is critical that I prioritize tasks,” she says.
Peters takes inspiration from a former British prime minister to define her attitude toward her role and career.
“I must quote Margaret Thatcher who said, ‘I do not know anyone who has got to the top without hard work, that is the recipe. It will not always get you to the top but should get you pretty near.’”
In her position, Peters looks to a trio of stakeholders and aims to leave a legacy with each:

ELITE WOMEN 2024 JUDGE
Named as one of IBA’s Elite Women 2025, Peters believes there is a need to have more women in leadership roles across the insurance industry. Her own personal experience has been positive.
“As a woman, I have not encountered structural barriers in my career, but I realize many women before me faced challenges. This awareness serves as a motivator for me to continue to pave the way for future generations,” she says.
She is determined to take this prestigious recognition and use it to encourage other women to achieve success in their own journeys.
Peters adds, “Being named an Elite Woman is such an honor. I hope to serve as a role model to inspire other women to challenge themselves and strive for leadership roles, to continue to promote change for a more inclusive industry.”
