Dr. Kim Abrego, PT, DPT, chief operating officer of Delivering Results & Solutions (DRS), is widely recognized for transforming how organizations prepare for and recover from disruption. Through her leadership, Abrego has helped guide the company’s growth while aligning with the broader objectives of parent company, Specialty Program Group (SPG).
Her work sits at the intersection of disaster recovery, operational strategy, and financial resilience, helping organizations navigate some of their most complex moments with confidence and clarity.
During her tenure, DRS has developed innovative programs such as the Managed Vendor Partner (MVP) program, which is reshaping how brokers, carriers, and clients pre-position critical resources before disasters occur. By strengthening collaboration between suppliers, brokers, and insured organizations, the program helps reduce downtime, manage costs, and improve resilience across both catastrophic events and secondary perils.
Abrego’s strategic guidance has expanded the role of disaster recovery consulting beyond traditional claims support. By connecting financial recovery strategies with operational preparedness, she has helped organizations approach resilience as a proactive business strategy rather than a reactive response. Her work continues to influence how businesses think about preparedness, continuity, and long-term recovery following major loss events, ensuring that recovery planning becomes an integral part of operational strategy rather than an afterthought.
When unprecedented federal pandemic recovery funding became available, Abrego led DRS in rapidly applying decades of disaster recovery expertise to the evolving COVID-19 funding environment. Under her guidance, the firm supported more than $1 billion in pandemic recovery funding for key organizations and local governments, demonstrating how disaster recovery expertise can adapt to emerging challenges and large-scale economic disruption.
Abrego’s impact, however, extends far beyond operational leadership. She has built a culture focused on mentorship, collaboration, and professional development within her organization. Through personalized leadership development plans and hands-on coaching, she has helped team members grow into high-performing professionals and emerging leaders, with several mentored individuals now leading new initiatives and service lines within the firm.
Beyond her work within DRS, Abrego is an active industry leader and connector. She recently served as chair of NIGP: The Institute of Public Procurement’s Business Council and is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum. Her leadership and influence have earned recognition across the business community, including being named one of Houston Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business and Houston Woman Magazine’s Houston’s 50 Most Influential Women of 2024.
Abrego is also the founder of The Endura Method, a leadership and coaching platform designed to help high-achieving women reclaim strength, clarity, and ownership of their lives and leadership. Through this work, she extends her focus on resilience beyond organizations to individuals, empowering women to lead fully in both life and business through public speaking engagements, individual support, and group retreats.
