Saray Uribe, an insurance professional of Cuban descent, has been working in the insurance industry since 2006. After 14 years of experience in a retail agency, she decided to go independent and opened CharSan Insurance & Consulting. After years of hard work and study, Uribe has earned four insurance designations. This, together with being bilingual, gives her a unique approach to the insurance customers in the Hispanic community.
Uribe’s passion to provide insurance education to her clients in their native language has attracted many business owners and contractors. She is committed to “keep learning, keep growing,” and this perspective is now part of her agency’s culture. She believes that a knowledgeable agent assists the client in making appropriate insurance decisions.

“A true leader can see potential in different employees, regardless of their position. Listening and recognizing the value of each individual not only inspires them but also makes them grow professionally”
Saray Uribe,
CharSan Insurance & Consulting
Uribe believes in personal growth and the importance of continuing education. She believes that knowledge is the key to success and gives each employee the opportunity to participate in conferences and conventions related to the insurance industry. This small company, with the owner’s leadership, has been able to retain big accounts in construction while expanding to other areas such as aviation and management liability.
Uribe has a background in a reputable retail agency in a Charlotte area. After working on commercial accounts for the last few years at Laurie Insurance Group, she became an expert in construction accounts and decided to open her own commercial agency.
“As a Cuban-American business owner, I saw the need to help the Hispanic community in the Charlotte metropolitan area, which keeps growing as the construction business goes on the rise,” she says. “Having four insurance designations, and the wealth of knowledge that comes with it, enables me to better counsel customers regarding the importance of having the appropriate insurance coverage.”
The agency has systematically studied the local construction market and projects to be able to identify which carriers will better fit the upcoming insurance needs. As Charlotte expands and new construction projects come to the area, networking with builders and general contractors becomes vital. Being familiar with insurance requirements for local projects helps the agency connect with subcontractors to provide appropriate coverage.
Nothing but excellence and integrity can be expected from CharSan Insurance & Consulting. Uribe has looked up to industry leaders that have shaped her career and helped in the formation of her firm. One of them was her former employer, Bill Laurie, owner of Laurie Insurance Group.
“Owning an agency demands a great deal of leadership and character, together with being able to keep calm under pressure and during difficult times – characteristics that I have put in practice while managing the agency,” says Uribe. “A true leader can see potential in different employees, regardless of their position. Listening and recognizing the value of each individual not only inspires them but also makes them grow professionally.”
