“Our mission is simple: we empower financial planners to spend more time building trust, deepening client relationships, and growing their business”
Chris Arthur, Bold Wealth
Jeffrey Lattmann has exhibited innovation, collaboration, and a deep passion for helping peers and clients throughout his illustrious career.
Now in his role as executive managing director of executive liability and risk solutions at Brown & Brown, Lattmann’s nearly 40 years in the insurance industry began when a high school friend introduced him to AIG.
“Shortly after starting in insurance, it became very apparent to me that this is an industry which allows one to carve a path for themselves and has lots to offer,” he says.
Lattmann’s commitment to mentoring the next generation of insurance professionals has also been a hallmark in his illustrious career. He aims to pass on the knowledge he has acquired over his extended tenure in the industry.
“I would like to be known as someone who engages and helps everyone around me to make them better,” he notes. “This is how I was brought up and I spent considerable time wanting to bring this forward.”
He has also been guided by a deep commitment to providing desired solutions to unique client needs.
“As a broker, it’s our job to make sure all parties involved in a transaction feel good about what has been agreed to.”
The various leadership positions Lattmann has held throughout his career has driven him to pursue a team culture where everyone’s voice is valued.
“My strongest professional quality is having an open door to anyone about any conversation. Listening is a very powerful tool. I’m always encouraging others to set goals and helping to guide them along the way,” he explains.
Lattmann is also a believer in the value of developing deep expertise in the fields that he has worked in. A lifelong learner, the Hall of Famer is constantly looking to bolster his own knowledge base to deliver improved outcomes to Brown & Brown’s clients.
The industry veteran’s long-standing commitment to educating his peers is highlighted by his roles as president and board trustee at the Professional Liability Underwriting Society, an organization that delivers high-quality educational resources to industry professionals.
An innovative mindset has been a defining feature of Lattmann’s career. While leading Beecher Carlson’s Executive Liability Practice, he was crucial in the development of MARA (now known as D&O In-Site), a groundbreaking tool that allowed for advanced risk assessment by leveraging historical loss data and tailoring client risk profiles to drive risk transfer decisions.
He says, “There are so many ways one can embrace change, starting with new product development, expanding the modelling of risk and leveraging technology.”
His dedication to cutting-edge technological solutions was also shown through his role in launching tailored cyber insurance form CyberSelect, an innovative tool that delivered access to D&O and Cyber coverage abilities for regional Brown & Brown offices.
Lattmann’s commitment to diversity and equity is demonstrated by his involvement as a board member of the Minority Business Development Institute, an organization dedicated to empowering minority, women, and veteran entrepreneurs.
