Reina Gregorio can trace her career journey to her childhood passion for solving puzzles and building things with interlocking bricks. This early fascination with problem-solving and creating laid the foundation for her career.
Early in her career, Gregorio mastered the intricacies of underwriting and assessing risks for design professionals. She then built upon that opportunity as a reinsurance underwriter, gaining deep insights into the professional liability marketplace from a reinsurance perspective, discovering what it takes to be profitable in this line of business. During this time, she was quickly recognized as one of the nation’s top professional liability underwriters and program managers.
Her career flourished with rapid advancements into leadership. She built one of the largest professional liability portfolios, adding elements of portfolio management, client relations, and distribution strategy in the process. She subsequently accepted a role with an insurance carrier with the goal of building its professional liability operation from the ground up. Within five years, her team grew the business to more than $150 million in premium.
Gregorio joined Great American as its professional liability divisional president in 2013. Since then, she has built a business with nearly 40 team members, guiding it through varying market conditions and industry cycles. The group’s visionary strategies and innovative initiatives highlight how she harnesses her team’s expertise to develop creative coverage solutions.
