Frank J. Scheckton Jr., recently retired divisional president at Great American Insurance Group – Fidelity / Crime, knows quite a few things about success. He began Great American’s Fidelity / Crime operations in 1995 as a one-person team. Today, this division has grown to be the third largest crime insurance market and largest monoline writer of crime insurance in North America. Fidelity / Crime also writes fine art insurance, is the largest writer of gaming insurance and the number one writer of armored car insurance in the world.
“Together, my colleagues and I developed a number of firsts in our industry: the first telephone fraud policy, the first to include cover for cryptocurrency and the first to offer a $100-million armored car facility in North America,” says Scheckton. “I’m proud that Great American is consistently innovating and creating products for its customers’ needs.”
Although Scheckton officially retired in September, his dedication continues. “Mentoring others was the greatest joy of my career. It is a delight to share the wisdom that comes with experience,” he says. “One of my favorite phrases is, ‘If it is worth doing, it is worth doing well.’ I’m honored to have the opportunity to share my passion with others while growing Great American’s Fidelity / Crime insurance business to be a market leader.”
