Energized by the long-time horizon afforded by Westfield Specialty being a mutual insurance company, Jack Kuhn joined the company in 2021 and has already established Westfield’s presence in the US specialty market, writing more than $250 million in business in less than a year in the market.
“I am proud of my connection with the Westfield Specialty team and the markets we serve,” says Kuhn. “I enjoy connecting with the team at all levels of the organization. I maintain a deep knowledge of the specialty landscape and utilize that expertise to add value and provide service to the team, our broker partners and our clients.”
His 36-year career in insurance began with Chubb, where he ultimately served as chief underwriting officer for Chubb Specialty. In his career, Kuhn has built and led specialty insurance operations, both in the United States and internationally. His career history includes executive leadership roles at Vantage as CEO of insurance, CEO of global insurance at Sompo International and Endurance and chief underwriting officer for both insurance and reinsurance. He was also the chief underwriting officer of Axis Insurance and president of financial insurance solutions at Kemper. Kuhn has also been an active member of PLUS, serving as a board member from 2003 to 2009.
“Going forward, my top objective is to build a meaningful, sustainable and profitable specialty platform that performs well through any market cycle – achieved by a continual focus on winning through talent, relationships and technology,” he says.
Kuhn earned his BA in history from Wesleyan University.
