“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”

Carte Wealth Management
As area vice president – broker at Risk Placement Services (RPS), Breck Seitz focuses on healthcare professional liability for risks across the country.
As a broker, he grew his wholesale book to over $1M revenue after only two years, and places over $15 million in premium annually. Additionally, he manages a team of two – one account manager and one placement specialist – mentoring and providing guidance along the way.
In his previous role as an underwriter, Seitz co-created a proprietary healthcare program resulting in more than $25 million in premium.
“When it came to career planning, I wanted to join an industry that utilized relationships, sales and analytical skills. My first employer gave me the opportunity out of school to move to Chicago and begin a career. RPS has allowed me to take those skills beyond any of my expectations,” says Seitz.
“My strongest professional quality is tenacity. I will fight for every deal until I have the best possible result for the retail agent, the insured and the carrier partnership.”
Seitz is active both in the insurance industry and in his community. He currently serves as vice president of Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Midwest Chapter Associate Board and is a member of the Association of Lloyd’s Brokers Board.
“I am constantly striving to make the industry better by guiding the next generation of insurance professionals, and working to ensure insurance remains a thriving industry for years to come,” he says.
“In addition to serving as the 2023 RPS Chicago Intern Coordinator, directly leading 14 college students, I chaired a Chicago event for Young Insurance Professionals, where 175 attendees were able to reconnect post-COVID and network across many disciplines of the Chicago market.”
He says, “I am also a member of WSIA U40, a group that allows me to stay up-to-date professionally and network with my industry peers. Within the community, I am a former President of the Children’s Place Association of Chicago Junior Board. I served on the 2019 Dive In Festival - Chicago Planning Committee, organizing a film screening and discussion raising awareness of food insecurity across the south and west sides of Chicago.”
Being present and engaged with the market and peers and being genuine are Seitz’s secret weapons.
“My inexperience has been a gift, allowing me to ask unlimited questions to soak up as much as I can with no judgment about what I do and do not know,” he explains.
“I have been able to call on many mentors throughout my broker and underwriting career. Sometimes to help point my ship in the right direction, and other times to simply provide support from those who have navigated challenges before me.”
He adds, “I want to continue moving forward providing guidance to up-and-comers, being involved with the next generation to help them grow and learn so they can make their mark on our industry.”
