Pamela Wheeler is an accomplished leader with nearly three decades of experience improving diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) outcomes for employees, clients, partners, and communities. She works with leaders across NFP to move the organization forward with deliberate action, measurable results, and continuous refinement.
Prior to NFP, Wheeler consulted with National Football League Operations on their DEIB efforts. Prior to that, she led the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA), where she accelerated DEIB in a number of areas for the players.
Wheeler is a woman of firsts. She was the first woman appointed to lead a professional sports union, was the founding director of the WNBPA, and negotiated the first collective bargaining agreement in women’s professional sports.
She also served as director of business development for the Continental Basketball Association and general counsel and marketing manager for Bob Woolf Associates/Arnold Communications. She serves on the board of the US Center for SafeSport and the Women’s Sports Foundation Trustee Emeritus Board, is a former lecturer at Columbia University’s MS Sports Management Program, and a former member of the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health Foundation.
Wheeler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University.
