“My strongest professional quality is my ability to build trust and long-term relationships, whether with clients, colleagues, or stakeholders”
Danny Ibrahim,

Ashby Moore is an area vice president at Risk Placement Services (RPS) and his trajectory in the insurance world stands as a powerful testament to perseverance, intentionality, and relationship-building.
Unlike many who find themselves falling into insurance by chance, Moore entered the field with purpose. A graduate of the Risk and Insurance Management (RIM) program at the University of Mississippi, he always envisioned a future in the industry.
Encouraged by family – particularly a supportive older brother who facilitated early industry meetings – Moore’s path into wholesale insurance was shaped by energy and drive.
Currently excelling in a fast-paced and ever-evolving casualty market, Moore's biggest challenge is staying ahead of changes within the industry’s landscape. His success depends on a sharp awareness of the marketplace. It’s this attentiveness, coupled with strategic thinking, that keeps him and his team competitive and agile.
Moore says, “We are a group of casualty professionals who strive every day to be the best. We don’t just trade with agencies and carriers, we build strong relationships and use those relationships with the marketplace to build strong insurance programs.”
At the core of Moore’s professional identity is an ability to cultivate strong, dynamic relationships. Whether with clients or carriers, he excels at creating meaningful partnerships.
The foundation for Moore’s impressive start lies in his resilience. Early in his career, he juggled multiple jobs to cover student loans while launching himself into the wholesale space.
“Failure wasn’t an option, and I kept pushing every day to be better and to become the broker I wanted to be. I tell the team often that we can’t get out-worked.”
Moore still makes cold calls every week, seeking new agency allies and staying hands-on in business development. That focus on long-term value over short-term gain defines his approach and underscores a reputation as a trusted casualty broker.
Mentorship at RPS has played a crucial role in Moore’s rise; he credits several senior staff members who reviewed his forms and coverages as instrumental in building his technical confidence.
This training and example allowed Moore to turn his early inexperience into an asset by embracing curiosity. When he didn’t know the answer to a client’s question, he made it a point to follow up with diligence.
“Those follow-ups lead to a lot of business,” he adds.
Being named one of IBA’s Rising Stars of 2025 is a crowning moment for Moore, but he regards it as a collective win.
“While my name is on the award,” he says, “my entire team deserves this as well; they have propelled our mission as a team to get this attention.”
