Randi Kasongo is a results-driven leader with over 15 years of expertise in insurance, financial services, and risk management, known for her strategic vision, operational excellence, and commitment to innovation.
Kasongo is the data and analytics value stream (DAVS) lead for Omni GL, where she leads the delivery of the data and analytics strategy for the product sophistication of all things General Liability. Known for her ability to tackle complex challenges with a unique blend of investigative and creative problem-solving, Kasongo consistently delivers sustainable solutions that drive performance and efficiency. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded initiatives that enhanced performance by 80% and developed strategies closely aligned with business objectives.
Prior to becoming DAVS director, agile product owner in business insurance, Kasongo made another strategic pivot at Travelers, transitioning into a senior manager role in business insurance product operations, leading a dynamic, multidisciplinary team responsible for underwriting rules governance, quality assurance, and intake. In this role, she drove impressive investments in team structure, operational processes, and technology integrations, shifting culture and boosting productivity by 25 percent and efficiency by up to 70 percent for scalable growth.
Prior to this, Kasongo took her deep expertise in claim investigations to lead strategy and execution of claim investigative training and development as director of investigative learning and development. In this role, she designed multi-year learning journeys for investigators and created a foundational investigative course required for all claims employees, cultivating a culture of continuous learning and excellence. Her leadership in this area broadened her influence, extending from frontline employees to senior executive leaders.
Before joining Travelers, Kasongo advanced her expertise as senior investigator at Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she led the development of targeted fraud training programs that improved fraud scheme identification, resulting in a 30 percent increase in investigative referrals.
Kasongo began her career in claims and was promoted to special investigator at GEICO. She was rated as a top investigator, quickly establishing herself with negotiation strategies that saved the company 40 percent on claim settlements and consistently exceeded monthly targets by 150 percent. Prior to entering the insurance industry, Kasongo held lead roles in government and banking, along with military experience.
Today, Kasongo draws upon her investigative, training, and strategic expertise to drive impactful business results. Her progression through varied roles has shaped her into a versatile, well-rounded insurance professional with a comprehensive understanding of both operational and strategic facets of the industry. An active leader in her field, she frequently engages in professional forums and conferences, where she presents on technological advancements, skills development, career progression, and empowerment.
Her transformative impact extended to her board roles serving the Los Angeles Chapter of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA). In her leadership role as Vice President, the chapter has doubled its membership, tripled its sponsorship, and launched programs that advance the organization’s mission. In 2025, Kasongo stepped into the role of Chapter President, continuing her mission to foster cultures of performance excellence and continuous growth.
Recognized as a woman of influence in the insurance industry and recently honored as a 2024 Elite Woman by Insurance Business America, Kasongo is a Southern California native guided by the motto, “Let’s go places: transforming people, spaces, and possibilities.”
