Kelby Warner commenced his career at CFC 13 years ago, joining directly from college in a junior underwriting support role.
Demonstrating exceptional aptitude early on, Kelby progressed rapidly through the ranks, earning a full underwriting role within two years. He currently serves as Team Leader and Technical Manager for the Professional Liability Team, where he is responsible for shaping underwriting strategy, managing portfolio performance, and overseeing a growing team of professionals.
In this capacity, Kelby plays a key role in product development, training and mentoring underwriters, refining technical frameworks, and driving interdepartmental collaboration. He remains an active underwriter, setting the benchmark for performance and continuing to serve clients and broker partners directly.
Kelby has been instrumental in the development of innovative coverage solutions, most notably the successful launch of a new manufacturer’s professional liability product. He is known for identifying gaps in the market and addressing them through pragmatic, client-focused solutions.
His leadership extended internationally through a secondment to CFC’s New York office, where he was responsible for embedding operational processes, and supporting the office’s strategic growth.
Kelby remains committed to advancing product clarity and integrity across the insurance sector, with the ultimate goal of aligning insurer offerings more closely with the evolving needs of policyholders.

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
