Reaching a major revenue milestone is something any producer recognizes, and for Alyssa Franklin, it was a goal she set from day one of writing business. Surpassing it stands as one of the biggest achievements of her career.
“It gave me confidence, validated the work I had put in, and reinforced what I’m capable of achieving moving forward,” she says. As a senior producer for commercial lines at Risk Placement Services, she has built that book on her own terms.
Franklin’s journey began with no fixed career plan. She was at a crossroads and chose to step outside her comfort zone, moving 1,800 miles from home and committing fully to a new role. “It was a bold decision, but it paid off and helped shape the career path I’m on today,” she shares. She has since treated her relative inexperience as an asset rather than a liability, staying open-minded, coachable, and curious enough to absorb everything the people around her could teach. That mindset helped her build a foundation in the industry faster than most.
Production is a relationship business, and Franklin counts her people skills as her strongest professional quality. “I can read a room and adjust my communication style based on the person or situation,” she says. Paired with consistency and follow-through, that instinct has helped her win trust quickly with clients and carriers alike. For her, following through on commitments is simple but, in her experience, often overlooked. Doing it consistently has earned her a reputation well ahead of her years in the business.
Early on, Franklin’s main challenge was proving herself in a demanding, results-driven environment. She met it by showing up consistently, with mentors helping through those early stretches by offering guidance and showing her what was possible. “Seeing women lead successfully built my confidence, and their advice helped me navigate challenges, trust myself, and grow into my own style as a producer,” she adds. Driving her throughout is a commitment to continual learning and a determination to set a positive example for her daughter.
Being named as one of IBA’s Rising Stars for 2026 has reinforced that confidence and pushed her to think bigger. “It motivates me to keep growing, continue building my reputation, and set even higher standards for myself,” Franklin says. “It has made me even more intentional about the impact I want to have moving forward.”
