Kelly Geary has close to 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a career spanning legal, claims, underwriting, compliance, and executive leadership roles. She began her career in New York City as an insurance defense and coverage attorney focused on professional lines before moving into a range of positions with leading insurance carriers.
Over the years, Geary has built deep expertise across professional, specialty, and financial lines products. She has held roles within claims, underwriting, compliance, and legal teams and served on the executive leadership team of a specialty lines division at a major insurer. This breadth of experience has given her a well-rounded understanding of both the legal and commercial aspects of insurance.
A recognized specialist in cyber and executive risk, Geary has extensive experience assessing emerging exposures and developing insurance solutions to address them. She is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and holds certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP).
Geary has also been actively involved in advancing industry knowledge and best practice. She served on the Executive Council and as a faculty member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) Claims College, School of Cyber. In addition, she holds CLM certifications as a Cyber Claims Professional (CCP) and Advanced Claims Professional (ACP).
Through her work with CLM and the broader insurance industry, Geary has contributed to the development of standards and best practices for cyber claims handling, including both stand-alone cyber policies and cyber coverage embedded within other insurance products.
