“My strongest professional quality is my ability to build trust and long-term relationships, whether with clients, colleagues, or stakeholders”
Danny Ibrahim,
KeyRate Mortgage
David Termechi began his insurance career in 2008 at just 16 years old, working part-time with a worker’s permit approved by his high school counselor. He started by making cold calls for Paramount Exclusive Insurance Services from the moment the agency opened its doors.
“What started as an after-school job quickly became something I genuinely loved,” he recalls. “I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was already building the foundation for my career.”
By 2012, Termechi had committed fully to the insurance industry while continuing his education, ultimately earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from California State University, Northridge in 2014.
From day one, his focus has been on trust and results. “I’m not in this business to chase sales, I’m here to consult with business owners and help them make the best decisions for their insurance needs,” says Termechi. That mindset has fueled the steady growth of his book of business, serving clients across state lines in high-risk industries like construction and transportation.
He brings deep expertise in these industries, helping companies not only reduce risk but also take control of their claims for better long-term outcomes. “It’s not just about placing coverage, it’s about understanding the business, identifying the exposures, and building a strategy that helps prevent losses and improves how claims are handled when they happen,” he adds.
“What I love most about this career is the people,” he says. “Every day I get to connect with business owners from all walks of life, each with their own challenges and goals. It’s a relationship business, not just with clients but with carriers, too. When you build trust on both sides, that’s when things really click.”
Now approaching his 18th year in the industry, Termechi has spent more than half his life in insurance, a journey that has shaped his identity and continues to fuel his passion. “This business has given me purpose, and I’m still just getting started.”

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
