Robert Conyers Jr. is an AVP and broker at Brown & Riding who specializes in the energy sector, including clients with energy assets (upstream, midstream and downstream), energy service contractors (engineering, construction and maintenance) and manufacturing (chemical, oil and gas, and environmental products). He truly understands energy casualties and has well-developed technical expertise across all products that are critical to the sector. His product knowledge allows him to anticipate underwriting concerns and effectively manage the submission process for his retail partners.
Conyers maintains strong relationships and communication with underwriters, so he can provide clients with accurate and creative market feedback. His ability to broker multiple coverages with multiple underwriters allows him to leverage terms and pricing to create complete risk solutions. Conyers consistently demonstrates his knowledge of carrier appetite by routinely structuring insurance programs that involve package markets that can write all lines or multiple carriers with multiple policies that achieve the same goal as package policies but at a significant cost savings to the insured. He is adept at finding solutions that will help an insured secure the best coverage possible.
In 2021, Conyers represented Brown & Riding as part of a team of four who won the CIAB Broker Smackdown Regionals in Chicago. He and his team then went on to win CIAB’s 2022 National Broker Smackdown. In the same year, Conyers helped expand Brown & Riding’s national footprint by opening the firm’s Louisiana location.
Conyers graduated from the University of Mississippi with degrees in risk management and insurance, managerial finance and marketing. He attends the IRMI energy conference as well as WSIA.
