After graduating from Miami University in 1997, Scott Brumberg started at Frank Crystal & Company in New York, NY. After Frank Crystal & Company, he worked at Aon in their financial services group and, while there, assisted in creating a specialty practice group focusing on private equity and mergers and acquisitions. After 11 years of being a retail insurance broker, Brumberg joined Swett & Crawford in 2008 to provide wholesale brokerage services to retail agents.
In 2012, Brumberg started the west coast office for ECC Insurance Brokers.
His focus is on providing management and professional liability insurance brokerage services to retail agents. The types of policies that he negotiates consist of directors and officers (D&O) liability, employment practices liability (EPL), errors and omissions (E&O, including A&E, lawyers, cyber, technology, media, and miscellaneous professional liability), fiduciary liability, commercial crime insurance, kidnap/ransom insurance and intellectual property coverages for both commercial and financial types of risks.
Brumberg has a reputation for doing everything he can to meet clients’ needs.
“My team and I always find a solution for every problem, whether it’s a simple one or a complex one,” he says. “For example, we once had to replace a policy with a carrier that decided to not honor their terms since they were over 30 days old, and it had to be the same terms and conditions as were previously provided. I called many underwriting relationships to be able to get the terms bound with a different carrier with the same terms and conditions.
“The changing marketplace has made being a wholesale broker more exciting than ever, and I am very excited for the future.”
