Nick Carozza embarked on his insurance career as a national broker at Risk Placement Services (RPS) in 2013, specializing in executive liability. A strategic move in 2015 led him to relocate to Lexington, KY, aiming to amplify RPS’s executive liability presence. Since then, Carozza has achieved over $50 million in GWP and steered his team’s growth to nine members.
“My most significant career achievement lies in the successful creation and development of a high-performing team that embodies open communication, embraces process improvement, and welcomes change,” he says.
Operating under RPS Executive Lines, Carozza and his team are rooted in delivering superior service while adapting to client needs.
“I dedicate time to educating new clients beyond the scope of traditional sales responsibilities,” he says. “My goal is to ensure that clients comprehend the nature of the product they are selling. While this may appear to be a minor effort, it has played a pivotal role in retaining long-term clients and contributing to my professional reputation.”
Drawn to executive liability for the broad spectrum of products it encompasses, Carozza’s success in the field is a result of his commitment to staying informed on market trends, changes, and evolutions.
He says, “My aim is to maintain a competitive advantage by staying ahead in understanding these developments, enabling me to not only educate myself but also share valuable insights. This allows me to engage in knowledgeable conversations with clients, fostering trust and having them choose to work with me over competitors due to my comprehensive understanding of coverages.”
In addition to being a trusted adviser to clients, for Carozza, success largely hinges on implementing knowledge to proactively solve problems while delivering measurable results and establishing feedback mechanisms for improvement.
“Integrating these elements creates a service model that builds lasting relationships and meets the unique needs of clients and retail agents,” he says.
Carozza also recognizes the importance of using his influence for good and prioritizes mentoring young professionals in the insurance industry.
He says, “As I have progressed in my career, I’ve supported young professionals in their career journeys, ensuring they gain confidence in their abilities, cultivate meaningful relationships, and embody their values.”
