“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”
Kelvin Rampersad,
Carte Wealth Management
With over 16 years of industry experience, Michael Davis has specialized in builder’s risk for 12 years. He is a principal, senior vice president, and broker at Brown & Riding.
Davis believes a successful broker must go beyond technical expertise and develop a profound understanding of their clients’ industries and operations. This approach allows him to anticipate coverage needs, address potential gaps, and provide proactive guidance on endorsements and exclusions, ensuring clients are fully protected.
His ability to think like a business stakeholder – not just an insurance expert – sets him apart, enabling him to deliver comprehensive solutions that serve as strategic tools for his clients’ success.
Davis serves as co-leader of Brown & Riding’s National Property Practice and holds Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) designations.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, he is also involved in the broader insurance community, currently serving as an advisory council member of USC Marshall’s Peter Arkley Institute for Risk Management.
Earlier in his career, he was actively involved in Emerging Insurance Professionals (EIP), which later became the Young Risk Professionals (YRP). During his tenure, he served as president of the Los Angeles chapter board.
