Over the last few years, all businesses have faced a challenging time. Navigating the new work-from-home environment, changes in hiring and collaboration processes, and the Great Resignation have been a test of resilience for many companies.
“When COVID-19 hit the world, we were very fortunate to have an IT platform that supported our employees’ ability to work from home with very little loss of time or functionality,” says Francis Johnson, president of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) Insurance. “With the flip of a switch, our teams were able to work with consistency, which allowed us to continue providing an excellent level of customer service to our distribution partners.”
J&J Insurance also relied on its company culture, which emphasizes a can-do attitude that embraces and drives change and celebrates a “work hard, play hard” mentality.
“In a family-owned business, we commit to taking care of each other like we are all one family,” says Johnson. “Like a driven family does, our focus and accountability allow us to push and drive each other to be better every day. Our culture is reflected in how we form relationships with our business partners and how we compete in our field. Everyone at J&J works every day to help each other succeed both in the office and out. Our J&J family is very competitive and always strives to be the best. We believe our competitive spirit and pursuit of lasting relationships sets us apart from other insurance companies.”
Founded in 1930, J&J Insurance is a family-owned and operated business that has the experience of the past with a vision for the future. The business is built on a foundation of long-term relationships with agents and customers. The company is a technology- and service-driven sales organization committed to writing business with its agency partners. The business is composed of highly trained professionals recognized as industry leaders. Their commitment to continued education enables them to handle day-to-day business quickly and craft creative solutions for difficult accounts. They are motivated to build long-term relationships with their clients, agency partners and company partners. While currently operating in 20 Eastern and Southern coastal states, J&J Insurance plans to continue its expansion into other states as well. The company is excited to continue its mission to support its partner independent agencies and companies.
J&J stands out from the competition by providing a full line of personal, commercial, program, and premium financing products; offering a direct billing service that has shown a 10-point impact on retention and prevents agents from wasting time on collecting premiums; providing IVANS policy downloads that enable up to 30% labor savings to independent agencies; delivering online capabilities including rating, policy documents, payments and claims reporting; maintaining an in-house team of more than 15 programmers to facilitate fast improvements in technology.
Some of the core values that J&J employees strive to embody include giving back to the community, having a servant’s attitude, and having fun together. Whether it’s participating in Trident United Way’s Day of Caring, joining a project with Habitat for Humanity, organizing food and clothing drives, or volunteering for local organizations, J&J employees are driving positive change in their communities.
